AboitizLand joins Gabii Sa Kabilin 2012

The  overused  word uber is apt here—more than 2500 local and international visitors,  more  than  30  Cebu trivias, more than 20 magnificent images of Cebu’s heritage sites, more than 15 delicacies -- AboitizLand Inc. presents
one of the biggest heritage celebrations through its participation in Gabii Sa Kabilin 2012 dubbed as Handurawan Sa Karaang Sugbo.

With  the  Heritage  of  Cebu  Monument  as  its backdrop, AboitizLand will transform Mabini Street on May 25 to showcase the awe-inspiring Kabag-uhan: Now  and Then Photo Exhibit Year 2. Old pictures of heritage sites from the
collection  of the AboitizLand’s CEO Andoni Aboitiz and Lucy Urgello-Miller will  be  place alongside its then pictures, the winning images of 2011 and 2012 Kabag-uhan: Now and Then Photo Contest.

The  amusing  Cebu  Trivia  Night  opens  at 7 pm challenging triviaholics’ knowledge  of their beloved Queen City of the South. The grueling battle of wits is open to all Cebuanos and Cebuanos at heart.

The  AboitizLand  Heritage  Show  will  turn  the  evening  into an amazing experience  in  entertainment  and  storytelling  as it did last year, even more.  Ka  Bino  Guerrero,  popular  tour  interpreter, will be telling the stories  highlighting  one  of Cebu’s greatest assets – the rich history of Cebu’s streetscapes and landscapes.

Ka  Bino  is Cebu’s equivalent of Manila’s maverick Carlos Celdran. He will conduct  a “sitting tour” as he reveals old Sugbo’s streetscapes and famous heritage points.

To  cap  off  a  fine  evening relishing the past, savoring the present and looking  forward to the future, guests will say ‘lami’ at the Food Festival where various communities are offering a splendid gastronomic treat.

AboitizLand’s participation in Gabii Sa Kabilin 2012 supports the company’s effort  to  nurture  the  Cebuano  culture  and heritage. Being in Gabii sa Kabilin  is the company’s contribution to the enrichment of culture and the arts,  consistent  with  its  brand  promise  of  developing  nurturing and assuring communities.

An  annual  event  of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.’s Cultural Heritage Program, Gabii sa Kabilin is a recipient of the Public Relations Society of the  Philippines’s  Anvil  Award  of  Merit  for  Public  Relations Program—Sustained Basis: Arts and Culture/Heritage/Tourism.
