CBE is celebrating its 10th year anniversary last August 5, 2011 launched its jobs bridging fair that was in cooperation with Tesda-region 7 SM cebu trade hall, and a General membership meeting at Radisson blu hotel.

Future Search Convention: Mapping out education issues and concerns;

2002
trained over 250 teachers and principals on ICT Literacy & 7 Habits for Highly Effective People;

2003

• established CBE secretariat
• conduct of Academe-Industry-Government Forum on Education;

2004

• partnered with Aboitiz Foundation, PBSP, RAFI, City Savings Bank and Globe Telecoms in the establishment of the Center for Teacher Excellence at CNU
• commencement of iNCUBE Project in Tayud Consolacion
• partnered with FIT-Ed in the conduct of the 1st ICTs in Basic Education Congress;

2005

• collaborated with Microsoft Philippines & Learn.ph in the conduct of ICT Integration Courses for in-service teachers in the entire Philippines;
• trained over 625 pre-service students in ICT Integration and Project-based Learning Approach

2006

• trained over 1,230 pre-service students in ICT Integration and Project-based Learning Approach
• launched Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology (MAIDT) with CNU
• iNCUBE School- Tayud NHS achieved Top School Ranking in the Regional Achievement Test for the entire Cebu Province for SY 2006-2007
• launched Para Teaching Program in Tayud;.

2007

• conduct of the 1st Education Expo in Cebu City with PBSP
• iNCUBE Schools- Tayud NHS awarded Best ICT Integration School in the entire Cebu province for 3 consecutive years; Tayud ES achieved DepEd target of 75% MPS in RAT/DAT for SY 2007-2008
• Establishment of Community Resource Center in Tayud.

2008

• Conduct of 2nd Cebu Education Expo with RK Franchise
• In collaboration with CNU and Microsoft, graduated 28 teachers in Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology (MA IDT)
• partnered with UPG Microsoft in piloting the MULTIPOINT Technology and iCafe elearning with Netopia nationwide
• partnered with FIT-Ed in the conduct of the 1st ICTs in Basic Education Congress;

2009

• Re-aligned CBE’s vision from “Catalyst to Responsive Education” to ”Creating Empowered Learning Communities”.
• Conduct of 3rd Cebu Education Expo with RK Franchise
• Turned-over Community Resource Center to Tayud Local School Development Council
• In collaboration with Netopia and Microsoft, graduated 600 elementary students on Basic ICT Literacy through the Angat Ka Program
• Partnered with Globe Telecom in the conduct of the Global Filipino Teachers Program. Awarded Certificates of Proficiency to 97 teachers in the Visayas Region.
• Spearheaded Global Campaign for Education through the BIG READ Event in support of the EFA Goal on Literacy

2010

• Conduct of 4th Cebu Education Expo with RK Franchise
• Partnered with Globe Telecom in the conduct of the Global Filipino Teachers Program. Awarded Certificates of Proficiency to 147 teachers in the selected provinces in the entire country.
• In collaboration with Microsoft Philippines, piloted Multipoint Technology in 23 divisions in the Philippines.
• Launched 10-point Education Agenda with Philippine Business for Education and Education Nation
• Trained 43 principals on Innovative Leadership in the 21st Century in partnership with PBSP and Smart
• Organized the CBE Junior Educators Council

The job fair, held at the SM City Cebu, was organized by the Coalition for Better Education (CBE) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) 7. Unlike ordinary job fairs, the “Jobs Bridging Fair” gave applicants the chance to attend sessions on entrepreneurship and personality development.

At the job fair, applicants were also able to process their membership in PhilHealth, Pag-ibig and Social Security Service. The National Statistics Office also participated in the job fair.

Tesda chairs CBE’s academe-industries linkage committee. CBE and Tesda organized the activity with the help of Globe Telecommunications, Microsoft, Visayan Electric Company and City Savings Bank.

Among the companies that joined the fair were Sykes, Parklane, Golden Cowrie, Metaphil, Tsuneishi Heavy Industries Inc., Qualfon, E-Performax and JP Morgan Chase. Then, applicants chose from various job openings for customer service representatives, field engineers, office staff, graphic artists, computer programmers, financial analysts and crane operators.

Globe supports Coalition for Better Education in its 10 years of empowering learning communities! Cebu Mayor Mike Rama graces the opening of the Coalition for Better Education photo exhibit at the second floor of Ayala Center in Cebu City. The exhibit kicks off the six-month celebration leading to the 10th year anniversary of the Cebu-based multi-sectoral organization and includes various projects undertaken by CBE with Globe Telecom.

Globe Telecom throws its support to the Cebu-based Coalition for Better Education (CBE), a multi-sectoral and membership-based non-stock, non-profit organization which is celebrating its 10 years of commitment to initiate and support education development all over the country.

CBE, being an expert on research and development of ICT integration in teaching and curriculum development, was tapped by Globe to become its major partner in the Global Filipino Teacher (GFT) and Global Filipino Schools (GFS) programs.

GFT is a teacher-enhancement training where CBE helps in developing capacities of teachers to conduct ICT-enabled learning activities in the classroom. Following its success, Globe and CBE together with the Department of Education, are now looking at further improving the capability of ICT-mature public high schools to become the community expert in ICT through GFS.

Globe is a pioneer member of CBE and has so far donated 30 desktop computers, internet connection, and phone lines to CBE’s Center for Teacher Excellence training center.
