New SAP MD for Philippines and emerging markets named

SAP announced the appointment of Darren
Rushworth as managing director (MD) of SAP Philippines and the Emerging
Markets, effective March 27, 2012.
Tim Moylan, SAP Southeast Asia President,
said Rushworth will oversee the sales efforts and operations of SAP Philippines
and the Emerging Markets that include Vietnam, Pakistan, Cambodia, and Laos
among others, “to help raise the group to the next level of amazing growth.”
Rushworth has been in the information
technology industry for over 25 years, the past 16 based in Asia. He is very
experienced in doing business in the Philippines and has been involved in
initiatives such as sitting on the Philippine IT advisory board under then
President Fidel V. Ramos, and promoting Private-Public-Partnerships through
academic programs across the nation.
“I am excited to be part of SAP SEA as the
region is poised to grow further. We are also confident that we can meet this
year’s targets and effectively address the company’s four points, namely
technology innovation , SME Solutions, ecosystems and cloud computing,” Said
Rushworth.
Jennifer Ligones will assume the position
of Country Head for Software Business of SAP Philippines. She will be
responsible in executing SAP Philippines’ over-all-go-to-market strategies for
various industries and line-of-business solutions. Ligones is a season SAP
Veteran, having been with the company since 1998.
Moylan expressed confidence that their
“extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in the IT industry will bring SAP
Philippines continued success specially as we begin doing a major play in the
areas of in-memory computing and mobility.”
