OLYMPUS RESORT TOUR INTRODUCES NEW WATERPROOF CAMERAS

Olympus hit the beach last Holy Week with the Olympus Tough Summer resort tour at Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort And Spa on Black Saturday and at Maribago Blue Water Resort on Easter Sunday.

Shunning the typical gadget exhibits inside the malls, Olympus took their Tough cameras to the beach where their advantages could be best appreciated. The Tough series boast of being the most durable cameras in the market right now. These cameras are waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, and crushproof as well.

“We want the public to do more than just see and touch our cameras,” said Alexander Bonilla, Olympus product manager. “This is why we decided to do a resort tour. We want people to experience using the cameras and see how well they work both on land and in water.”

To let the resort guests fully appreciate the Tough series, Olympus set up a product booth with a large aquarium that held their submerged cameras and also displayed sample units for the resort guests to try.

They also had models with demo units who interacted with the guests. Guests used the waterproof cameras to photograph their friends and families in the water. People were delighted that the same point-and-shoot concept on land could be done in the water, without having to be careful that the cameras would be damaged.

After shots were taken, guests were also given free prints courtesy of Olympus and Colours Digital Foto.

Some guests enjoyed the camera so much that the exhibit also generated on-the-spot camera sales.
Another event highlight was the presentation to the media of the newest Olympus Tough models still coming soon to the Philippines. This was held in Maribago Blue Water resort on Easter Sunday.

During the presentation, it was revealed that 3 new Olympus Tough cameras will be available for sale in the Philippines by the middle of May. These are the T-310, T-610, and T-805. Bonilla demonstrated some interesting features during the presentation. Beauty Mode allows the photographer to instantly edit a photo and minimize skin blemishes and add eye sparkles. Watercolor Filter alters the photo to make it look like a watercolor painting, while Sparkle Filter adds sparkling lights to photos.

The Tough cameras also take videos, further enhanced by filters. Demonstrated filters included sketch, watercolor, and pin hole. These filters instantly added special effects to the videos.
The new Tough models will be available in the Philippines in 2 weeks’ time. These will be displayed in all Colours Digital Foto branches.

To pave the way for these new arrivals, the current Tough models are also on sale at Colours. The Olympus Tough Summer resort tour was presented by Olympus and Colours Digital Foto, in cooperation with Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa and Maribago Blue Water Resort. The event was organized by Crinnovent Corp.
