National Youth Summit of the Movement of Anti-Trafficking Advocates

There will be an upcoming National Youth Summit of the Movement of Anti-Trafficking Advocates  here in the Philippines. The Visayan Forum (VF), together with MTV EXIT, invites youth leaders to the first National Youth Summit of the Movement of Anti-Trafficking Advocates (MATA) on October 24th to 28th, 2011 at the Ateneo De Manila University. The Youth Summit will bring together dynamic young Filipinos who will collaborate and deliver their action-oriented commitments and campaign strategies in the fight against trafficking and other forms of exploitation.

The Movement of Anti-Trafficking Advocates (MATA) is an anti-human trafficking advocacy network aimed at motivating and engaging the youth to become the voices for the voiceless victims of human trafficking in the Philippines. MATA (“eye” in Filipino) serves as the “watchful eye”—vigilant youth committed to providing appropriate mechanisms that address human trafficking in the country.

We ask you to please recommend and encourage dynamic young Filipinos aged 16 to 26 to join the Youth Summit. Attached are the VF and MTV EXIT anti-trafficking campaign concept paper, Youth Summit program and Youth Summit application form for your reference. The deadline for applications is on September 30th, 2011 (details are included in the application form). For more information, please visit www.visayanforum.org or www.facebook.com/mata.page.
