The press briefing of the RAFI Triennial Awards (results of nominations) was last August 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Casa Gorordo Museum, 35 Lopez Jaena Street, Cebu City.

The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) Triennial Awards Call for Nominations committee presented the results of the nominations. After six months of calling out for nominations, the committee has received more than 200 nominations from ordinary citizens, government agencies, non-government organizations, people’s organizations, civil society, academe, and the business sector, among others, from the Visayas and Mindanao. Acceptance of nominations ended last July 16.

There were over 200 nominations for group and individuals. For the Eduardo Aboitiz Award for Outstanding Institution, 128 nominations, and for Ramon Aboitiz Award for Exemplary Individual, 134 nominations. Statistics were presented as to the highest region with nominations and males were dominant nominees in the visayas and mindanao for the individual category except ARMM with more women nominees. The committee also discussed the next steps of the search and the activities involved.
